Obtaining and maintaining Employment in Adults with severe Mental Illness – a new Cochrane Protocol

Mental illness is responsible for significant high rates of unemployment and a high incidence of sickness absence and reduced productivity at work. One-third to one-half of all new disability benefit claims are submitted for mental health reasons. How can these adults be kept at work or be supported to obtain employment?
The protocol for a network meta-analysis of hetergeneous vocational rehabilitation interventions was registered to establish the comparative effectiveness of these interventions and rank them according to their efficacy to facilitate competitive employment (principal investigator: Frederieke Schaafsma, Dutch CIM member).
